Jason Castro - Somewhere Over the Rainbow

A few weeks ago American Idol contestant, Jason Castro, sang a wonderful version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". It was amazing. He did such a great job and really, in my opinion was the best act that week. But I was even more thrilled when he mentioned Israel Kamakawiwo'ole who originally sang the beautiful Hawaii influenced version of "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".

I fell in love with Israel Kamakawiwo'ole music a year ago after I heard a commercial that had used a clip of his music. The internet is a great tool at finding things but I was a little disappointed to learn that Israel Kamakawiwo'ole that he had passed away in 1997.
